The Canadian vaporizer manufacturer has done it again with the release of the ArizerSolo Vaporizer.
One of the most well crafted portable vapes out there today, the Solo is made from a very sleek brushed aluminum, and fits in the palm of your hand like it is supposed to be there.
Available in the original brushed aluminum or black, the Solo is powered by a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery, which according to Arizer can last up to four hours before needing to be recharged.
The Solo vaporizer is extremely well crafted. This can be seen when the top part that has the silicone heating device cover is removed to reveal the inner workings of the Solo. Removal of the “cap” makes cleaning the device really easy. It’s obvious those Canucks put a lot of time and effort into the research and development of this thing.
The Solo vaporizer has seven different temperature settings which increases incrementally by 5°C (41°F) from a minimum temperature of 185°C (365°F) to a maximum temperature of 210°C (410°F), which is pretty amazing for such a small vaporizer. This vaporizer heats up quite quickly for having such a high max temperature, and takes about 1-3 minutes to reach any of the pre-set temperature settings.
The Solo’s heating unit warms up straight away, but so does the rest of the device after some time. It comes with a detachable glass wand attachment (and an extra wand) for direct inhale, as well as a glass bowl if you want to use it for aromatherapy.
The aluminum casing, as well as the glass tube, also can warm up fairly quickly, which could make for an uncomfortable vaping experience if the Solo is used for any extended period of time.
I’m not all that impressed with how the glass tubes attach to the Solo. Although it’s a “snap on/snap off” wand, the solid wand itself becomes an extra vape accessory that needs to be carried separately. Lose the wand(s) and you can’t use the Solo. Stoners like me aren’t too fond of extra parts that could be lost or misplaced. I think the Iolite WISPRsolves this better with it’s integrated silicone mouthpiece.
I do like how the glass wand serves a dual purpose as the filling chamber as well. But, the Solo, because of its craftsmanship, does create a nice, thick amount of vapor for being as small as it is.
So, I kind of forget about the whole warm mouthpiece thing. It also has a 3-hour standby time, which can give some piece of mind and relieve some worry about leaving a warm vaporizer sitting around.
Roughly the size of an aerosol deodorant can, this Canadian-made vape is very discreet and can easily be tucked away in your backpack, handbag or even your pocket. Although the Arizer Solo vaporizer was only released in July 2011, I can easily say it is one of the best performing portable vaporizers today.
